About Arabooki

A press born from a school

Arabooki is an independent publisher created to bring the Arabic language and its culture to every corner of the world. We have spent years teaching Arabic, and along the way we discovered something: the books our students needed did not exist. So we decided to create them ourselves.

How Arabooki started

It all started at Escuela Internacional de Árabe (eiarabe.com), a fully online academy where we have been teaching Modern Standard Arabic and Moroccan darija to Spanish-speaking students from all over the world.

Working with students every day we noticed a pattern: good books were missing. In Spanish, in English, in French. The ones that existed were either too academic, too shallow, or stuffed with words nobody uses.

So we made them ourselves. We started with '500 words in Modern Standard Arabic' and '500 words in Moroccan' in Spanish. Then verbs and calligraphy. Now we keep adding titles and languages — the mission is big and we are at the beginning.

Arabooki is that press. Independent, made by teachers, written for people who actually learn.
